  • Damn you Warner Bros....!!

I never had the chance to read Watchmen when it was 'new'.  The movie for me was pretty much my first experience with the story.  I did know that it was a movie about superheros but it wasn't a 'superhero movie'.  I really really liked it.  So much that I've been waiting anxiously for about a month and a half to get the movie on DVD.

Finally had the chance to run by and pick up a copy this evening.  Get home and open up to watch the movie and out dumps a coupon.  Okay...great...what do they want me to buy now??  Its a coupon for $10 off the super premium delux version of the movie, to be released in December.  *sigh*

I can't TELL you how glad I am that I get to buy the stinking thing again.

  • Things and stuff and stuff and things...

It was foolish of me to think by the workroom being closed for a week, when we came back it would be less hectic than when I take a week "off".  The past 2 days have been nutty busy.  Not busy in the same way as when I come back from, say, Gulf War.  But having 13 carts of fabric waiting to check in Monday morning when we came in...yah...crazy.

Having the chance to just hang with Mom has been really great tho.  We did a whole lot of nothing over the weekend.  I don't think I got off the couch more than twice all weekend.  But its been nice just to have time to relax and not feel like we HAVE to go do anything.  The only thing we MUST do is hit the Kitchen Store.... *evil grin*

Round Table this weekend.  I'm excited to have my warrent signed and officially take over the office of Baronial Herald for Elfsea.  I'm nervous about the book side of things.  I want to help everyone I can but names and omnastics are not my strong suit.  And conflict checking is one of those things that once you are out of practice, its hard to get back in.  But I'm determined to try.

Tomorrow we get to pick up the kids, quite a treat since their mom has them the month of July.  But she's letting us grab them for dinner so my mom can at least say hi and spend a little time with them.  I'm thinking we're headed to Razoos...YUM!\

Other than that...all is well.  And now for something completely different.

  • An early morning "scare"...

I woke up around 4:30 this morning.  Normally, this would annoy me no end.  However, because I'm on vacation for the next week and can take a nap today, I really don't care.

Anyway, when I came out to the living room, I hear the unmistakeable sound of water running.  I couldn't figure out where the water was coming from so I flew into a slight panic.  I quickly check the sink in the kitchen and the washer and the hot water heater, hoping the house wasn't flooding.  Everything seemed fine.  It was then I was standing still long enough to realize the sound of running water was coming from outside the window.  I peeked through the blinds to see that it was raining.  Its been so long since its rained around here I didn't even recognize the sound.

Mom's flight lands at 5:15 this afternoon.  *grin*  Can't wait!

  • Tired...

It was one of those weeks where I came home tired every single night this week.

Wednesday was the worst.  I had 3 medical appointments.  The first was just a general doctor check up but the second was a meeting with a psychologist.  I took a personality test, first time I've ever done one of those.  The good news is, I passed.  So I don't know if that means I have a 'good' personality or they just verified that I do in fact have a personality.  It was 370 questions long and I was really tired.  After that was an appointment with a physical therapist.  2 hours later I get out of there after a myriad of questions and a bone scan.

I think I almost fell asleep in the car on the way home.  I was really surprised at how tired I was.  I can see why the process of getting approved for stuff is so arduous.  I'm sure most people start and when they see how many hoops the insurances companys make you jump through, they just give up.

I am going to try to get some fighting tabbards finished up for both Clint and Rob this weekend.  Maybe a couple new pair of pants for each of them also.

Beyond that, there's nothing at all this weekend I MUST get done.  I'll go on a cleaning frenzy next weekend before mom comes in (yay).  But for the next two days my goal is to enjoy my last weekend with the kids here and get done exactly as much as I want to get done and not one iota more.
